STREATOR-  Ann Sheldon 100 formerly of Streator died Sunday morning (Sept. 15, 2013) at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler TX.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday Oct. 5, 2013 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sheldon was born May 22, 1913 in Mt. Morris IL the daughter of Harry Emmet and Lelia (Weagley) Shindle. She married Claude Sheldon, Apr. 19, 1941 in Minneapolis MN. He preceded her in death June 1986
Mrs. Sheldon was a homemaker and a member of the former St. Anthony’s Church. While living in Streator she was active with the Streator Country Club, Literary Club, Book Club, Bridge Club, the Duplicate Bridge Club, a patron at Engle Lane Theater and a volunteer with the United Way. She attended Oregon IL grade schools and was a graduate of Oregon High School, class of 1930.
She is survived by four sons, Thomas (Marie) Sheldon, Palestine TX, David (Janet) Sheldon, Hubertus WI, Jerry (Adrienne) Sheldon, Elkhart TX and Stephen (Jean) Sheldon, Jacksonville FL, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one sister, Edith Medlar, Rochester MN.
She was preceded in death by the parents, husband, four sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
