Streator – Bernice M. Beckman, 92, of Streator died Friday evening, August 10, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with the Rev. Daniel Stalker officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Flanagan.
Mrs. Beckman was born Jan. 9, 1920 in Streator, the daughter of George and Catherine (Markulik) Seaman.  She married Glenn Beckman Feb. 11, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on June 5, 1990.
Bernice and her husband were owners of Beckman Motor Company in Streator for many years prior to their retirement.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in the women’s circle and the Altar Guild.  She was also a member of the former Streator Women’s Club, the Elks Lodge, the Pink Ladies of St. Mary’s Hospital and was an avid golfer and member of the Streator Country Club.  She attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.
Bernice is survived by one daughter, Karen (Larry) Travis of Aiken, SC and one son, Gary (Peggy) Beckman of Naperville, four grandchildren,  and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Evelyn Sirotnak and Marie Batkiewicz, and four brothers, Edward, George, Robert and Andrew Seaman.
Pall bearers will be her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Streator or the Good Samaritan Home of Flanagan.
