Bert Flanary

Bert Flanary, 93 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (Dec. 22, 2020) at his residence.

A small service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Pastor Bill Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 Saturday prior to services.  Due to Covid 19 pandemic, masks are required and social distancing standards will be followed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Streatorland Food Pantry.

Bert was born August 8, 1927 in Pikeville, KY, a son of Bert and Cora (Ratliff) Flanary.  He married Emagene Stockdell on April 10, 1961 in Springfield, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Diana (John) Ross of Anderson, MO, Jamie (Maura) Flanary of Belvidere and Shana Flanary-Durdan of Streator; seven grandchildren, Shane and Jeff Hopper, Nicholas and Emily Flanary and Noah, Jonah and Gideon Durdan; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Nicky J. Flanary; two brothers, Carl and Merve Flanary; and two sisters, Jeanette Seroka and Mary Canale.

Bert worked very hard and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
