DONNA TEXAS-  Carol Jean Thomas 75 of Donna Texas formerly of Streator and Ottawa died Sunday morning (Sept. 23, 2012) at St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Ottawa at a later date.
Mrs. Thomas was born Aug. 15, 1937 in Streator the daughter of Ellis and Alma (Mitchell) Hedrick. She married Jack Louis Thomas April 15, 1956 in Streator. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1987.
Mrs. Thomas had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and Thatcher Glass Co. both of Streator and Luminous Processing, Ottawa. Carol’s favorite pastimes were traveling, playing euchre, working jigsaw puzzles and going to country music jam sessions in Donna Texas where she had resided the past 15 years. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1955.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Taylor, Rochelle, Paula (Harold) LePard, Odell, two sons, Craig Thomas, Odell and Jeff (April) Thomas, Flowery Branch GA, four grandchildren, Stacy (Michael) Leal, Ashley LePard, Phillip (Stephanie) Thomas and Jack Thomas, two great grandchildren, Kaylee Striplin and Emma Thomas, four sisters, Inez Heusel Genevieve Haynes, Avis (Jim) Harcharik, all of Streator and Nita Hedrick, Oregon, three brothers, Glen (Faye) Hedrick, Wisconsin, Virl Hedrick, Arizona and Howard (Sherry) Hedrick, Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband one sister in infancy and one brother.
