Charlene Froman

Charlen R. (Whalen) Froman,78, of Winnebago, died Monday July 18, 2016 at her home, with her loving family at her side. Born August 30, 1937 in Streator, the daughter of John J. and Frances A. (Renn) Whalen. She was the first graduate of Woodland High School, Streator in 1955. Charlene married Kenneth H. Froman on September 17, 1955 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Streator. They moved to the Winnebago homestead in 1966. Charlene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pecatonicia. She was a phenomenal cook and baker; creating everyone's favorite dishes is how she showed her love. In addition, she enjoyed gardening and dearly loved being with her grandchildren. Charlene is lovingly survived by her husband, Ken;son Richard (Cindy) Froman of Roscoe; daughter, Susie Foy of Hoffman Estates; grandchildren, Frank and Matt Foy, and Angie, Kristi and Tyler Froman; brother, John (Christine) Whalen of Streator; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; sister, Mary Louise Snow; brother-in-lae,Marion Snow; and nephew, Gary Snow. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Streator with Fr. Jacob Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Lostland Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Hagi Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements
