Charles Nedrick Hodge 92 a resident of Savanna IL for 44 years passed away at home in North Carolina on January 2, 2011. A recent illness necessitated the move to North Carolina where he could live near many of his family members.
Charlie was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Streator and Savanna Illinois , the VFW, American Legion Post 148 and the Pearl Harbor Survivor’s Association. After his discharge from the Navy, Charles worked in Streator IL for Arwell before accepting a post in the Savanna Army Depot in 1967. Following retirement he owned his own pest control company, Hodge Pest Control for many more years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise (Gaff) Hodge, four children: Janet Jones, twins Ted Hodge and Karen Pendola, and Wendy Reames. He was proud grandparent to six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 8, 2011 at Hagi Funeral Home, 205 High St. Streator IL 815-672-2420. Military gun salute will be held immediately following. Pastor Larry Thompson of Savanna IL will be giving the celebration service. |
