Eileen M. Kusnerick, 91, of Streator passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare of Pontiac.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 11, 2021 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, facial coverings are required, and social distancing standards will be followed. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Eileen was born March 4, 1929 in Rowe, IL, a daughter of Claude and Myrtle (Casson) Curtiss. She married George M. Kusnerick on June 23, 1951 in Streator.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie (Michael) Barichello and a son, Jeff (Angie) Kusnerick both of Streator. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Kim (Greg) Wilson, Greg (Kristie) Abbott, Bill and Dan Osland, Donna (Ken) Volkman and Richard Hombaker; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Even though she never had the pleasure to meet all of her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, she loved them all the same.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Lynn Hombaker; a sister, Juanita Lopeman; and two brothers, Leroy and Keith Curtiss.
Eileen was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
She was a graduate of Cornell High School. She worked for Lipton Tea, Owens and for many years at Hornsbys, then retiring from Kmart.
Eileen loved telling stories of her life growing up on the farm. She was a cubs fan and enjoyed watching pro golf.
