Evelyn Gulo

Evelyn A. Gulo 90 of Streator died Wednesday afternoon (May 4, 2011) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First United Methodist Church , Streator with Rev. Bryce Hays, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery , Streator.
Mrs. Gulo was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Melvin Illinois the daughter of Fred and Lavina (Giese) Arends. She married Attorney Max Gulo, July 7, 1943 in Melvin. He preceded her in death Jan. 16, 2009.
Evelyn had been a school teacher at Melvin High School . She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the former Grace United Methodist Church where she served on the Board of Trustees. She was also member of the Streator Country Club, Triple C Club and the Visiting Nurse Association. She attended Melvin Grade School and High School and was a graduate of the University of Illinois class of 1942. She enjoyed bird watching, reading and her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice (Jerome) Rasgus, Falls Church, VA and Sandra (Colin) Rogers, Streator, one son, Attorney Michael (Cheryl) Gulo, Streator, five grandchildren, Cory Rogers, Sonya Rogers Danielson, Thomas and Jonathon Gulo and Daniel Rasgus, eight great grandchildren and one brother, William (Jean) Arends, Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter, Lindsay Michelle Gulo and one sister, Marjorie Hudson.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Cory and Zachary Rogers, Scott Danielson, Thomas Gulo, Daniel Rasgus and Jay Seibert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sonya Rogers Danielson, Jonathon Gulo, Zoey and Noah Danielson, Casey Johnson, Jeff Welch and Anne Rogers.
