Francis "Dan" Uhren

Francis Daniel “Dan” Uhren, 75 of Streator passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at OSF Center for Health, Streator.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator.  An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Monsignor Philip Halfacre will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.

Dan was born August 13, 1948 in Streator, the son of Frank and Anna Marie (Weir) Uhren.  He married Beverly Kerner on July 24, 1971 at St. Stephen’s Church in Streator.  She Survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Kakara of Streator; three grandchildren, Jesse Porter, and Cain and Trenton Kakara; and a sister, Mary Jo (Ed) Musovich of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dan was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 790, Eagles Club #645, Moose Lodge 372, and the Vermillion Boat Club.

He started at BorgWarner and retired from GE Plastics after 35 years.

Dan enjoyed many activities, including Photography and woodworking.  There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.
