Helen Hayes

Helen Dean (Adams) Hayes, 89 of Streator passed away Wednesday evening at Heritage Health, Streator.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Helen was born January 4, 1926 in Streator, the daughter of John and Jessie Dunn Adams.  She married Robert G. Hayes on November 28, 1947 in Streator.  He passed away on February 18, 1983.
Surviving are children, David (Nancy) Hayes and Lynn Hayes both of Streator; three granddaughters, Leesa (Dr. Kent) Frye of Bourbonnais, Lorie (Jay) Gebhardt and Jenny (Omar) Marin both of Streator; and two great grandchildren, Luke Gebhardt and Sophi Marin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; four brothers, Bob, Tom, Jack and Glen Adams; and two sisters, Mary Blakemore and Elsie Hearn.
Helen was a 1944 graduate of Streator High School.  She had worked at Bryants Store, Model Paris Laundry, and St. Mary’s Hospital where she had retired from.  After retirement she cleaned the Parkview Clinic for many years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Streator.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
