James I. “Jim” Gould, 73 of Streator passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Streator.
His funeral services will be 11:30 AM Friday, December 27, 2024 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Rev. Rodney Kreier officiating. Burial with military rites performed by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Pallbearers will be Robert Culver, Jeff Patton, Steve Crank, Dave Vissering, Mark Gould, Roberto Marin, and Will Gaefcke. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of service 11:30 AM Friday prior to services at the funeral home.
Jim was born June 8, 1951 in Streator, a son of Irwin and Virginia (Robb) Gould. He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Tietjens Culver on May 22, 1998 in Streator.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jackie; two sons, Allen Culver and Robert Culver, both of Streator; and two sisters-in-law, Sandra Kozlowski and Karen Marquard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wiener dog, Buddy.
Jim had served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492. He always going to the Legion and VFW to visit with his buddies and have a beer with them.
Jim had worked for United Pipe for over 40 years and worked for Dick Huffine at the Monroe Tap for many years.
Jim was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. He was a train enthusiast and collected train magazines. Jim was always checking to see what the latest yard tractors had to offer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
