Jose Basilio Ramirez

Jose Basilio Capuchino Ramirez, 66 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (September 25, 2019) at his home.

A visitation will be held Saturday (Sept. 28th) from 10 – 12 noon at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Services will be held at noon at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services.

Jose was born on August 7, 1953 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Bacilio and Maria de los Angeles(Capuchino) Ramirez.

He married Barbara Loughride on August 8, 2009.  She survives.

Also surviving is daughter, Monica Zaragoza of Chicago, sevenstep-children, Ronald, Adan, Christina, Michael, Stephanie, Sirena and Jesus,  grandsons, Paul J. Zaragoza and Antonio Zaragoza, several step-grandchildren and one step- great-granddaughter, sisters-in-law, Linda Loughridge of Ottawa and JoAnn (Juan) Morales of Peoria, brother –in-law, Steve (Laura) Loughridge of Ottawa and a close friend Juan Servando Ramon.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents and a special friend, Trinidad Baca.

He attended grade school in Mexico.  Jose retired as a welder from Transco in 2018.

Jose enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.  He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and loved his little dog Jalapeno.
