June Hayes

June M. Hayes 83, of Streator passed away at 3:05 AM Monday (September 2, 2019) at Asperion Care in Toluca.

A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Friday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.  Msg. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

She was born on May 11, 1936 in Streator to John & Anna (Wargo) Hayes.

She is survived by her siblings:  Janis (Andrew) Majercin of Streator, Nancy Trautman of Streator, Joann Hayes of Streator, Joyce (Jay) Hoffman of Chillicothe, Allen (Evelyn) Hayes of Jefferson City, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings:  Ada Kerestes, Virginia Sandy, Leatha Morgan, Robert Hayes, Donna Komsteller, Alfred Hayes and Jane Hayes.

She graduated from Streator Township High School and had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Phillips Electric Company until retirement.

She was a former member of St. Stephen’s Church and now a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.

She loved to Golf and won the Streator City Woman’s Championship one year.  She loved all sports especially the Chicago Cubs.
