STREATOR- Lawrence “Larry” Lukach Sr. 86 of rural Streator died Sunday evening (Oct. 12, 2014) at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with a prayer service at 3:45 PM Thursday. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Lukach was born Feb. 23, 1928 in Streator the son of John and Anna (Sabol) Lukach. He married Frieda Kiss at St. Stephen’s Church. She Survives.
Larry had been employed at Anthony Body Co., Streator, Libbey-Owens-Ford, Ottawa, Thatcher Glass Co. Streator, and retired from Joe Hatzer and Son, Streator and he had also farmed. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Streator. Larry enjoyed traveling with his family following retirement. He attended Heenanville Grade School and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1947.
He is survived by his wife Frieda, two daughters, Laurie Lukach (Elliott), Pontiac and Julie (John) Clift, rural Streator, one son, Larry Lukach Jr., rural Streator, four grandchildren, Mark Enno, Christina Lukach, Vaughn Elliott and Lawrence Landen Lukach, two great grandchildren, Lia Miller and Claire Elliott, one sister Maryann (Don) Muffler, rural Seneca.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and one brother Bud Lukach.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
