Leon R Hoffman

Leon Ray Hoffman, 89 of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Ransom, IL passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

 His funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Pastor Joe Schripsema officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home.

 Leon was born September 24, 1935 in Dwight, IL, a son of Irwin and Marian (Kates) Hoffman. He married Patricia Marie Promenshenkel on January 21, 1957 in Davenport, IA. She preceded him on September 7, 2023.

 He is survived by a son, Kelly Hoffman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two daughters, Leslie Hoffman of Lake Worth, FL and Cherie Hoffman Silverstein of Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren, Tristan Hoffman and Emma Hoffman. Also surviving is a sister, Marge Hoffman of Lake Worth, FL; and a brother Joe Hoffman of Marseilles, IL.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Guanda Hoffman; a son, Terry Hoffman; and a step-brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Linda) Hagi.

 Leon attended the Ransom grade schools and graduated from Dwight High School. He attended the University of Colorado on a football scholarship. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic.
