STREATOR- Leona C. Micklos 99 of Streator died Saturday afternoon (Sept. 13, 2014) at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Roger Hurlbut, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Streator.
Mrs. Micklos was born Feb. 16, 1915 in Eau Pleine Wisconsin, the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Tadwauldt) Dimka. She married Mike Micklos, Feb. 11, 1942 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Kahoka MO. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1958.
Leona had been a registered nurse for many years, having been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital, as a visiting nurse and in the medical department at Thatcher Glass Co. and Owens-Illinois Glass Co, all of Streator. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended Junction City WI schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing, Marshfield WI.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Health for the care and kindness that Leona received while she was a resident.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Weidemann, Oshkosh, WI, Kay (Richard) Tarr, Charlotte, N. Carolina, two sons, Michael (Sharon) Micklos, Streator and Theodore (Karla) Micklos, Franklin, WI, 8 grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters Emma Tadwauldt, Marie Klein, Anna Albert and Frieda Johnson and two brothers Arthur and Frederick Dimka.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Matt Weidemann, Mike and Chris Rhoden, Paul Micklos, Julie and Steve Mounce.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
