Linda L. Washko

Linda L. Washko, 78 of Streator passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home, Ottawa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Linda was born October 13, 1943 in Streator, a daughter of Martin and Louveda (Whitehurst) Benner.  She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas G. “Tom” Washko on August 26, 1961.  They celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary this last August.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; three children, Susan Washko of Streator, Brian (Kathy) Washko of Littleton, CO, and Dirk Washko of Streator; and four grandchildren, Brittany (Christian) Largo, and Stephanie, Christopher, and Hannah Washko.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman “Butch” Benner; and a sister, Donna Hoskins.

Linda was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  She retired from Owens Illinois Brockway after 30 years.

Linda was a beloved loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also was a cat lover and had many cats over the years.  She will be greatly missed.
