STREATOR- Mae Lucille Cox of Streator died Saturday afternoon (Nov. 24, 2012) on her 94th birthday at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Jerry Haley, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, the Eagles Auxiliary Ritual will be recited at 5:00 PM Wednesday. Burial will be in Emery Green Cemetery, rural Streator.
Mrs. Cox was born Nov. 24, 1918 in Streator the daughter of Malcolm Alexander and Lottie Lee (Stebar) Trenor. She married William Robert Cox, July 28, 1937 in Davenport Iowa. He preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1971.
Lucille had been employed as a cook in several restaurants in the Streator area over the years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a sixty year member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary Aerie # 645, and the REACT group with the Eagles, a sixty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and had been a member and president six times of the former Thatcher Glass Co. Auxiliary, all of Streator. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1936.
Lucille enjoyed her clubs, Bingo, playing cards and watching the Bulls.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Edward) Miller, Streator, seven grandchildren, Julie Ohmes, Cindy and Daniel Miller, Carrie Hoschouer, Jennifer Kendall, Jeffrey Cox and Jodie Fryman, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandson and a daughter-in-law, Sally Cox, Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Carol Lee Ryan, two sons, Ronald Ray Cox and William Robert Cox Jr., one sister, Mary Virginia Gutting and three brothers, Francis “Fritz”, Leonard and Dale Trenor.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Miller, Jeffrey Cox, Rick and Ryan Ohmes, Ryan Kendall and Rich Fryman.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
