Marilyn Jean Howell

Marilyn Jean Howell, 87, of Streator, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator with Pastor John Gutz officiating.  Pallbearers will be Steve Howell, Sam Howell, Kevin Pflibsen, Mike Wilkinson, and Cooper Wilkinson.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral services, and inurnment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to services on Saturday at the Church.  Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Marilyn was born October 26, 1936 in Morris, a daughter of Leo and Margaret (Plesko) Harrington.  She married Charles “Tuddy” Howell on September 5, 1964 in Streator.  He preceded her in death on February 1, 2021.

She is survived by her children, Sally (Kevin) Pflibsen of Streator, Sam Howell of Flanagan, Sheri (Mike) Wilkinson of Ottawa and Steve Howell of Streator; four grandchildren, Nikki (Bobby) St. Vincent, Cooper and Elle Wilkinson, and Maddison Howell; and two great grandchildren, Wally and August St. Vincent.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tuddy Howell; a son, Shawn Howell; and a sister, Ruth Ralph.

Marilyn was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Streator.

She was known for being meticulous at cleaning and gardening.  She enjoyed being outdoors and biking.
