RANSOM- Marilyn F. Kruger, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria IL.
Born in Streator IL on June 26, 1952, Marilyn was the daughter of Lyle and Marie Masching of Dwight.
Marilyn married her first and only love, William T. Kruger Jr., on September 16, 1972 in Dwight. The Krugers made their home in rural Ransom where they farmed and raised their family.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kristen (Kirby) Woods, Washington IL and Kelly Kruger, Ransom; one son, Kurt (Kelly) Kruger, Kinsman; four grandchildren, Grant and Kate Woods and Bailey and Kenley Kruger. Also surviving are five brothers and one sister, Ken (Jan) Masching, Dwight; Irv (Lynn) Masching, Dwight; Gary (Peg) Masching, Elgin; Terry (Karen) Masching, Little Rock, AR; Madelyn Fogarty, Dwight; and Jeff (Anita) Masching, Algonquin. In-laws include William Kruger Sr, Kinsman; Sandy (Richard) Roenfeldt, Ottawa; Linda Bookout, Kinsman; Karen (Jim) Hopp, Dayton OH; Pam (Jim) Siedentop, Ransom. Marilyn was the beloved aunt of 27 nieces and nephews. Becka Masching was a special sister of the heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law Marjorie Kruger.
A 1970 graduate of Dwight Township High School and a graduate of Joliet Junior College, Marilyn most recently worked as a teacher’s aide at Dwight Grade School.
Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend always putting the needs of others before her own and continues to do so, even after death, by donating her organs through Gift of Hope so others might live. She loved to create and was an artist in so many ways. Through gardening, painting, drawing, sewing, photography, and more, Marilyn always found ways to create, capture and share the beauty in life. Marilyn was member of Kinsman’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she actively practiced her faith in God. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinsman IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Sacred Heart Church, Kinsman, with Rev. John Hornicak officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, in Ransom. Hagi Funeral Home in Streator is in charge of arrangements.
