Martha Finnegan

STREATOR-  Martha J. Finnegan 82 of Streator died Monday morning (Apr. 14, 2014) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator, with Father Jacob Rose, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mrs. Finnegan was born June 8, 1931 in Streator the daughter of Grace and Joe Stehlo. She married Francis Finnegan May 22, 1954 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Streator. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 2012.
Martha had been employed at the former Lipton Tea. Co. and later was the cafeteria manager for the Streator District # 44 Elementary Schools. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, and had been a member of the former Streator Country Club. She attended Streator Grade Schools and Streator High School.
Martha enjoyed family dinners with her kids and grandkids and was rarely seen without one of her two daughters.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane (Don) Carpenter and Susan (Richard) Adler, both of Streator, four grandchildren, James and Scott (Jamie) Carpenter and Alex and Anne (fiancé Jake Casson) Adler.
She was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather and husband.
Pallbearers will be Don, James and Scott Carpenter, Richard and Alex Adler, Jake Casson and Richard Powell.
