RANSOM- Mary Arlene Corrigan 91 of Ransom died Saturday afternoon (Aug. 17, 2013) at Liberty Village, Streator, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church, Ransom with Rev. Gabriel Msoka, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Corrigan was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Seneca the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Kelly) Wallace. She married Arthur J. Corrigan Nov. 29, 1942 in Seneca. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 1998.
Arlene had been employed at the Seneca Shipyard during WWII, Westclock, LaSalle and for nineteen years at Owens- Illinois Glass Co. Streator. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church, Ransom and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Arlene loved to sew and had helped with her daughter’s craft business. Later in life she was a member of the Ransom Senior Citizens group and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and was a graduate of Seneca High School, class of 1940.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Frank) Francisco, rural Ransom, two sons, Jack (Vickie) Corrigan, LaSalle, Frank (Carol) Corrigan, rural Ransom, grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Doerr, , John Corrigan, Kris (Gary) Johnson, Jim Corrigan, Tony Francisco, Karen (Chad Colby) Corrigan, Kevin (Katie) Corrigan, Jeff Corrigan, Kurt Corrigan, JoDee Fleming and Jeana Griffith, great grandchildren, Sonya Moyer, Jacob Moyer, Adleigh Corrigan, Bristol Corrigan-Colby, Amy Corrigan, Jordan Corrigan, William Corrigan, Lakota Meagher, Madalyn Halm, Matt Johnson, Andrea Johnson and Danelle Johnson, one sister, Helen Meseroll, Princeton Junction, NJ nephew Dennis Meseroll and niece Mary Margaret (Doug) Dennis and a sister-in-law, Matilda Wallace, Washington WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty six years, Art, one brother Gerald “Buddy” Wallace and brother-in-law Vince Meseroll.
Pallbearers will be Jim, Kevin, Jeff and Kurt Corrigan, Tony Francisco and Tim Doerr.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca Food Pantry or to the LaSalle Veterans Home Activity Fund.
