Mary Lou Massino, 89, of Streator passed away at 6:17 PM Saturday (February 18, 2017) at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Ottawa.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM Saturday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Deacon Charles Zulz will officiate at the cemetery.
She was born on February 24, 1927 in Streator to Harold & Irene (Grennan) Donelson. She married Anthony C. Massino on November 22, 1952 in Streator. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1998.
She is survived by sons: Anthony F. (Patricia) Massino of Streator and Michael H. (Julie) Massino of Morris; grandchildren: Celia Marie (Jeremy) Rosen of Henderson, NV, Anthony Harold Massino of Chicago, Lindsay Michelle Massino of Las Vegas, NV and Andrew Michael Massino of Carbondale; great grandchildren: Sheldon & Lena Rosen and a sister, Joan Daniels of Largo, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Harold “Jack” Donelson and a nephew: Michael Donelson.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Grade School and Streator Township High School in 1945. She then attended St. Theresa’s College in Winona, MN and also attended Midstate Business College in Peoria.
She was an administrative assistant at Illinois Fruit & Produce in Streator.
She had belonged to the Streator Country Club, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Streator Women’s Club, The Elks Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Mary Lou loved to play bridge, gold, bowl, play Bingo and play slots. Her family and friends were very dear to her. She was a very simple women.
