Matthew Olson

Matthew T. Olson, 17, of Streator passed away at 7:30 PM Sunday (April 21, 2019) at his residence.

A visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Wednesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home and also Thursday from 10-11 AM at Central Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Central Church of Christ.  Rev. Joe Sanders will officiate.

Interment will be in Phillips Cemetery in South Streator.  Pallbearers will be B.J. Olson, Jeremy Wheeler, Kurtis Graham, Jordan Williams, Luke Blakley Nick Sanders, Jere Lukes and Brixton Downey.

He was born on June 19, 2001 in Ottawa to Jeff & Tonya (Landstrom) Olson.

He is survived by his parents of Streator; a brother, Ryan (Laci) Olson of Colo, IA; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Lamango of Streator; his paternal grandmother, Mary Olson of Ottawa; an aunt, Jean (Bill) Stapleton of Marseilles; a great aunt, Clara Whittom of Streator and a cousin, Lexi Chadwick of Marseilles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Olson and his maternal great grandmother, Wanda Whittom.

He graduated from Streator Township High School in January of 2019 and was scheduled to attend I.V.C.C. in the Fall for welding.

Matt liked to weld, go fishing and bowling.
