Melanie Laird

Melanie Ann Laird, 64 of Streator passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Melanie and Rich’s House.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is assisting the family with arrangements.

Melanie was born July 27, 1957 in Metropolis, a daughter of Scott and Barbara Laird.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Fred) Cimei of Streator, Tisha Andrew of Minnesota, Frankie Kozak of St. Charles and Scott Kozak of St. Petersburg, FL; her boyfriend, Richard Noel Jr. of Streator; 7 grandchildren, Moniqua Hood, Zack Ford, Tyler Kozak, Andrew Kozak, Jordan Kozak, Darian , and Grayson Randall; and a great grandson, Remington Edward James Ford.  Also surviving are a brother, Steve (Jackie) Laird of Streator; Donna (Bruce) Hjerpe of Minnesota; and her former husband, Frank Kozak of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Melanie had graduated from Woodland High School in 1975.  She enjoyed drawing and was a great artist.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and had a heart of gold.
