Michael Locke

Michael Locke, 78 of East Peoria formerly of Streator passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon Monday, February 13, 2023 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Streator with military rites performed by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.  Pallbearers will be Johnathan Hawkins, Jeff Good, Jordan Wagenbach and Logan Steinquist.  Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.

Michael was born January 26, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, the son of Charles and Phoebe Locke.  He married Dianna Mae Gaff on June 7, 1980 in Streator.  She preceded him in death on May 7, 2019.

Surviving are his children, Amy (Eric) Porter of East Peoria, Kimberly (Scott) Weddle of Abilene, TX, Charles Locke of Streator, Lisa (Howie) Siegel of River Vale, NJ, and Susan (Glenn) Sullivan of Bethpage, NY; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Good, Corey (Sara) O’Neill, Johnathan Michael Hawkins, Kaylee (Jordan Wagenbach) Elko, Emily Hawkins, Marianna O’Neill, Natalee Shapiro, Jaden Siegel, Tyler Porter and Brooke (Luke) Rund; and two great granddaughters, Ava Good and Zoe Rund.  Also surviving is a sister, Renee (Lenny) Reiter of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Michael was raised in Brooklyn, New York and served in the United States Army.  He later retired from the Bloomington, IL Post Office.

Michael was avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with family.  He loved to barbecue and smoking ham on his Weber Grill.
