Myrna Ann Alberts

Myrna Ann Alberts, 84 of Streator passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Liberty Village of Streator.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Rodney Kreier will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Myrna was born September 12, 1940 in Streator, a daughter of Lester and Mary (Walther) Teegardin. She married Robert Alberts on October 17, 1959. He preceded in death on September 4, 1995.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristie (Randy) Conarro of Streator; and a sister, Barbara Stevens of Streator. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Jon Stevens, Cari (John) Dudenhoeffer, Robert (Laurie) Teegardin Jr., Kim Teegardin, Mark (Stacia) Teegardin, and Tom Vance; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Rosalie) Teegardin Sr.; a brother-in-law, John Stevens; and a niece Regina Vance.

Myrna had worked for Dr. William Shaw and in the medical records office at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed mostly western romance novels. She liked her music and was a huge Keith Urban fan.

Myrna and her husband enjoyed traveling. She had a small group of friends that would gather for luncheons and travel to various places.

Myrna was known for her smile that would light up a room. She had a big heart and always cared about others.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Project, Illinois Valley Animal Rescue or the Streatorland Historical Society.
