STREATOR- Phillip “Bud” Wiggett Jr. age 86 of Streator died Monday morning (April 20, 2015) at St. Joseph Nursing Home, Lacon.
Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11:30 AM Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Monday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial with full military rites conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Wiggett was born August 2, 1928 the son of Phillip and Margaret (Vargochik). He married Dorothy McClane, Sept. 29, 1951 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. She preceded him in death, Sept. 8, 1997.
Phil had been employed at as a letter carrier with the Streator Post Office, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator, Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492. He attended St. Stephen’s grade school. He served with the US Army Air Corps during WWII.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice (Jay) Armstrong, Sun Prairie WI, Joyce (Jeff) Watts, Lacon, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Jean Folken and Margaret Ann Plichta, both of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, James Wiggett and one brother, Gene Wiggett.
Pallbearers will be Scott Folken, Jeff and Eugene Plichta, Tyler Williams, Curt Watts and David Armstrong.
