Raymond Wahl

STREATOR-  Raymond C. Wahl 76 of Streator died Wednesday morning (Jan. 29, 2014) at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Lon Alderman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Wahl was born July 29, 1937 in Streator the son of Frank and Pauline (Elias) Wahl. He married Joyce Hagie, Oct. 25, 1958 at St. Anthony’s Church. She survives.
Ray had been employed as a construction worker and at Aurora Blacktop for many years prior to his retirement. He attended St. Anthony’s grade school and Streator High School. Ray was a member at the Marseilles Union Hall.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, there daughters Rose Hillyer, Beth Peterson and RaeAnn (Doug Mackjust) Renner all of Streator, five grandchildren, Brent, Adam and Jorden Hillyer, TJ Renner and Matthew Peterson, five great grandchildren, one sister, Pauline (William) Brandt, Mendota and one brother, Francis “Honk” (Patricia) Wahl, Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Loretta Hindert, Helen Myers, Florence Jacoby and Phyllis Fialko and one brother, Fred Wahl.
Pallbearers will be Brent, and Jorden Hillyer, TJ Renner, Matthew Peterson, Doug Mackjust and Chris Wahl. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson Adam Hillyer and great grandchildren, Alexa, Aiden and Weston Hillyer, Owen Renner and Morgan Landen.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
