Richard A. “Dick” Notman 73 of Streator died Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 3,2012) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery , Streator with Rev. Jerry Haley, officiating. There will be no visitation. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Notman was born Jan. 8, 1938 in Streator the son of William and Emma (Cook) Notman. He married Patricia Hart, Dec. 8, 1979 in Streator. She survives.
Dick had been employed all his life, starting as a paperboy for the Times-Press and later work for Anthony Body Co., Illinois Fruit and Produce, Knoedler Mfg., Streator Dependable Mfg., E.B. Cullen Co., he also had owned and operated the former Jodie’s Cigar Store and retired as office manager of Bruce Township Hall in June, 2009. He attended Streator grade schools, was a graduate of Streator High School , class of 1956 and attended Bradley University , Peoria . He was of Methodist faith and a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie # 645, Streator and United Commercial Travelers.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Streator, three stepsons, Jeff McAlpine, Streator, Kevin McAlpine, address unknown and Bill (Mary) McAlpine, Ottawa, also surviving are two nieces, Lura Rice, Bloomington and Tonja (John) Kozak, Normal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jim Notman, and nephews, John, Curt and Bill Notman.
Memorials may be made to the Pet Project or to the American Cancer Society.
