Robert Sterner

Robert E. Sterner, 81 of Streator passed away at 7:40 PM Friday (December 7, 2018) at his residence.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will held at Noon at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  Full Military rites will be held the funeral home by Streator Leslie. G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

He was born on July 18, 1937 in Streator to Carl & Florence (Shull) Sterner.  He married the former Suzanne Bruck in September of 1965. She survives.

He is also survived by sons:  Jeff (Linn) Sterner of Streator, Randy Sterner of Bloomington and Dani (Terri) Brown of New Jersey and 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated from Streator Township High School and then served in the United States Navy.

He retired from the State of Illinois in Conservation and Nature Reserves.

He was a member of Park Presbyterian Church where he sang in the Choir and was also a Deacon.

He loved the Cubs, the Bears and played in a Jazz Band in High School.
