Robert Widman Jr.

RANSOM-  Robert R. Widman Jr. 61 of rural Ransom, died Monday (Feb. 2, 2015) at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Ransom United Methodist Church with Rev. Danita Parra, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator and from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom.
Mr. Widman was born June 11, 1953 in Ottawa the son of Robert and Ruth (Miller) Widman Sr.
Bob was the owner of Widman Insurance Agency in rural Ransom. He was an active lifetime member and lay leader of the Ransom United Methodist Church, a member of the Wise Guise singers, Peoria Area Civic Chorale, a former member of the Prairie Singers, a mentor for young people and board member of the Streator YMCA and he had also been a 4-H leader. He attended Ransom grade school and was a graduate of Seneca high School, class of 1971 and had attended Illinois Valley Community College.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Ruth Widman, rural Ransom, one sister, Renee (Rev. Kenneth) Harris, Cuba IL, one brother, Ronald (Cathy) Widman, rural Ransom and one nephew, Daniel Robert Widman, rural Ransom.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Royal and Esther Widman and Harold and Alvaretta Miller.
Pallbearers will be friends of Bob’s.
Memorials may be made to the Ransom United Methodist Church or the Streator YMCA.
