Ruth Christensen Rinkenberger

Ruth A. Rinkenberger, 94 of Streator passed away Friday morning at Heritage Health Streator.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Pastor John Gutz officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to services at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ruth was born December 7, 1926 in Dwight, a daughter of James and Bertha (Hahn) Christensen. She married Charles Rikenberger on June 20, 1948 in Dwight. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2020.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, and two brothers, Glenn and Alvin Christensen.
Ruth was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was a former treasurer at the church. She had worked at Streator Home Building and Loan for over 50 years as a secretary and operating officer. She had also worked for Illinois Savings and Loan and the Federal Home Loan Bank.
