Virginia K. Battin

Virginia Katherine Battin, 86 of Streator passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her residence.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Tonica.   Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is assisting the family with arrangements.

Virginia was born March 12, 1937 in Peru, a daughter of Charles and Emma (Maass) Minick.  She married Henry B. Battin on July 25, 1987.  He preceded her in death on January 10, 2012.

She is survived by three daughters, Katherine (Cary) Bryan and Deborah Simmons, both of Streator, and Melissa Lawless of Normal; a son, Steven (Brenda) Lawless of Streator; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Janet Minick Sullivan and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; and two brothers, Donald Minick and Richard Minick.
