Wayne Robert Durham of Streator passed away peacefully at his home on May 9, 2023. He went on to be with his Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 60.
He was born on May 24, 1962 in Chicago, a son of Robert and Judith (Smith) Durham.
He is survived by his son, Brent (Jackie) Durham of Streator; a daughter, Amanda (Ryan Cosby) Durham of Streator; his significant friend, Margaret Minkler of Streator; and 11 grandchildren and bonus grandchildren, Ryleigh, Gabriel, Leo, Kyler, Milah, Brendan, Zerrick, Jersey, Jackson, Dawson and Aiden. Also surviving is a brother, Bryan Durham of Indiana; and two sisters, Judith Salisbury of Las Vegas and Suzanne Kos of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Judith and Bruce Goodman; his father and step-mother, Robert and Carol Durham; step-brother, Mark Goodman; as well as other friends and family members.
Wayne served in the US Navy stationed on the USS Constellation in the Mediterranean. He was an independent contractor, an electrician and a “Wayne” of all trades.
He was a former Mason. He enjoyed camping, bonfires, fishing, plants and being in the outdoors.
He will lovingly be remembered by many friends and family members for his infectious laugh, sense of humor and hard work ethic.
The family would like to thank a special friend, Kate Vaughn for all the help and support in this time of grieving.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held later this fall. Cremation rites will be accorded. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
